What industries are foreign investors allowed to do business in Vietnam?

Question: I am a foreigner, American nationality, want to open a business in Vietnam. So I want to know which industries are foreign investors allowed to do business in, what industries are not allowed to do business and which industries are restricted from investment for foreign investors in Vietnam, I have to see What legal documents?

To know which industries are foreign investors allowed to do business in, which industries are not allowed to do business and which industries are restricted from investing for foreign investors in Vietnam, you must refer to the following legal documents:

1. Law on Investment No. 67/2014/QH13 dated November 26, 2014;

2. Law amending and supplementing Article 6 and Appendix 4 on the list of conditional investment and business lines of the 2016 Investment Law;

3. Decree No. 118/2015/ND-CP dated November 12, 2015 of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Investment Law;

4. Decree No. 60/2014/ND-CP dated June 19, 2014 of the Government regulating printing activities;

5. Decree No. 25/2018/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Government’s Decree No. 60/2014/ND-CP dated June 19, 2014 regulating printing activities;

6. Decree No. 126/2007/ND-CP dated August 1, 2007 of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Vietnamese workers working abroad under contracts ( valid until May 19, 2020). From May 20, 2020, Decree 38/2020/ND-CP will be applied guiding the Law on Vietnamese workers working abroad under contracts;

7. Decree No. 69/2018/ND-CP dated May 15, 2018 of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management;

8. Decree No. 163/2017/ND-CP dated December 30, 2017 of the Government regulating the business of logistics services;

9. Decree No. 158/2006/ND-CP dated December 28, 2006 of the Government detailing the Commercial Law on goods trading activities through the Goods Exchange;

10. Decree 51/2018/ND-CP amending Decree 158/2006/ND-CP guiding the Commercial Law on goods trading activities through the Goods Exchange.
