Trademarks are considered as one of the biggest intangible assets of a business. That’s why trademark registration is so important. The following article, DHP Law will introduce to readers and customers the notes when preparing a trademark registration declaration.
The notes when preparing the declaration are as follows:
- Paste the trademark sample with the size not exceeding 80 x 80mm on the trademark registration declaration. The trademark template should be presented in the correct colors to be protected, otherwise the trademark template must be presented in black and white.
- Description of the mark: it is necessary to clearly describe the distinctiveness of the mark:
Specify the constituent elements and the overall meaning of the mark.
– Non-Vietnamese words must be transliterated and translated into Vietnamese if they have any meaning.
– Describe the graphic form of words and words if they are distinguishing elements to be protected;
– Specify the location of each part of the mark on the product or product packaging.
- Name and address of the applicant being an organization according to the Business Registration Certificate or the name and address of the applicant being an individual according to the people’s identity card/citizen identification
- List and grouping of goods and services bearing the mark: List the goods and services that will carry the mark suitable to the business field and need to be grouped according to the International Classification of Goods, services (Nice Classification) in order of grouping from low to high.
